India’s Consul General in Brisbane, Neetu Bhagotia, has unveiled the official poster for Alluring India, a fashion showcase that will form part of celebrations marking India’s 80th Independence Day in Australia. According to the event organisers, the programme is expected to be the largest Indian fashion event held in Brisbane.
The organisers said Alluring India has been curated by renowned fashion designer Vinay Gupta and will be staged on August 16. The event aims to present India’s rich textile traditions alongside contemporary fashion, highlighting the country’s cultural heritage, craftsmanship and creative talent.
According to the organisers, the fashion showcase will feature designs inspired by India’s diverse artistic traditions while providing a platform for cultural exchange and community engagement. The programme is intended to celebrate the evolution of Indian fashion by bringing together traditional craftsmanship with modern design.
The Consulate General of India in Brisbane has been supporting a series of cultural and community events to commemorate India’s 80th Independence Day, reflecting the growing people-to-people ties between India and Australia. The organisers said Alluring India will be one of the major highlights of the celebrations in Brisbane.
Curator Vinay Gupta said the event is designed to showcase the elegance, diversity and artistic excellence of Indian fashion to audiences in Australia. According to the organisers, the showcase will also promote greater appreciation of India’s textile heritage and the creativity of Indian designers.
The organisers said the event is expected to attract members of the Indian diaspora, fashion enthusiasts and the wider Australian community, providing another opportunity to strengthen cultural connections between Australia and India through fashion, art and creativity.
