Indian High Commission holds consular Open House at BAPS Mandir

Canberra, June 18 (Indian Abroad Newsdesk)

In an outreach effort to connect more closely with the Indian community in Australia, the Consular team of the High Commission of India held an Open House at BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir, Canberra on June 14, 2025.

The event was aimed at addressing queries related to consular services and providing on-the-spot assistance and guidance to community members. Attendees had the opportunity to interact directly with officials from the High Commission on matters such as passport renewal, OCI cards, visa inquiries, attestation services, and other documentation requirements.

The Consular Open House was well-attended by members of the Indian diaspora in and around Canberra, many of whom welcomed the initiative as a helpful way to stay informed about consular processes and resolve pending issues.

A representative from the High Commission noted that such outreach programs are part of a broader effort to bring services closer to the community and to ensure accessibility and transparency in consular functioning.

The event also provided an opportunity for community feedback, which the High Commission team welcomed as a valuable input for improving future services.

The High Commission expressed its appreciation to the BAPS Shri Swaminarayan Mandir for hosting the event and to the local Indian community for their active participation.
