Consul General Amarjeet Singh Takhi extended a warm welcome to the Indian Navy Sailing Vessel ‘Tarini’ and its officers, Lt Cdr Dilna and Lt Cdr Roopa, recently, upon their arrival in Fremantle. The two women officers, who had displayed immense courage and resilience during their 38-day journey as part of the Navika Sagar Parikrama, were greeted by representatives from the Royal Australian Navy, the Australian Army, Indian veterans in Western Australia, and the Indian diaspora community.
The arrival ceremony included a traditional cultural welcome, featuring live performances of Parai drums and Kombu Thaarai music by TAWA. The event was also covered by local media, celebrating the officers’ remarkable feat and their contribution to promoting women’s empowerment in the Indian Navy.
