The Consul General, Neetu Bhagotia, met with an Indian University leaders’ delegation during their visit to Brisbane for the India Showcase 2026, hosted at the University of Queensland.
The event was jointly organised by QS, a global higher education insights and engagement organisation, and Austrade, the Australian Government agency responsible for advancing trade, investment and international education partnerships.
The visiting delegation included founders, vice chancellors and senior executives from leading Indian universities. Discussions centred on expanding academic cooperation and strengthening research linkages between Indian and Australian institutions, with a particular focus on opportunities in Queensland.
Participants explored pathways for joint programmes, faculty exchanges and collaborative research initiatives aimed at enhancing innovation, skills development and student mobility between the two countries.
The engagement reflects growing momentum in India–Australia education ties, with both sides expressing interest in deepening institutional partnerships and fostering long-term collaboration in higher education and research.
