Consul General Amarjeet Singh Takhi recently welcomed IT pioneer, tech veteran, and co-founder of Infosys, N.R. Narayana Murthy, during his first visit to Perth. Murthy, a Padma Shri and Padma Vibhushan awardee, delivered an inspiring address at the IIT Alumni Association WA Innovation Hub, where he shared insights on innovation and entrepreneurship.
The event spotlighted the growing influence of the Indian diaspora in Western Australia’s tech and startup sectors, featuring presentations from various innovative companies. These included GrowME, which offers solutions for college preparation, DataCynical’s AI and IoT-driven data analytics platform, Lorgan Enigma’s behavioral science technology, ProGenis Pharmaceuticals’ next-generation RNA medicines, and TowTray, a road service and towing assistance startup.
A special moment of recognition was reserved for the young women naval officers of INSV Tarini, who were felicitated on stage by the event organizers and received a round of applause from the audience for their remarkable achievements. The event emphasized the significant role of the Indian diaspora in driving innovation and contributing to Western Australia’s dynamic tech landscape.
