The Institute of Health and Nursing Australia recently hosted a celebration of International Nurses Day in Melbourne, honouring the critical contributions of nurses to the healthcare sector.
Consul General Dr. Sushil Kumar joined the event and commended the dedication, empathy, and tireless service of nurses—particularly recognising the Indian nursing community for its outstanding role in supporting Australia’s healthcare system and community well-being.
In his remarks, Dr. Kumar highlighted how Indian-origin nurses continue to serve as a bridge between cultures while upholding the highest standards of care across hospitals, aged care, and community health services throughout the country.
The celebration brought together healthcare professionals, educators, and members of the wider community to not only mark the global occasion but also to reflect on the shared values of care, resilience, and multicultural strength within Australia’s health sector.
The event reaffirmed the growing recognition of Indian professionals in Australia and the importance of nurturing international cooperation in health and education.
