The Indian Society of Western Australia (ISWA) participated in the Shiv Jayanti celebrations organised by the Marathi Association Perth, marking the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj with cultural pride and community spirit.
The grand event brought together members of the Marathi community and the wider Indian diaspora in Perth to honour the legacy of the revered Maratha ruler. The programme featured a vibrant lineup of traditional performances, historical reenactments and cultural presentations reflecting the life, leadership and vision of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj.
Organisers highlighted the significance of Shiv Jayanti as a celebration of courage, governance and cultural identity. The event also provided an opportunity for attendees to experience the rich heritage and traditions of Maharashtra through music, dance and storytelling.
ISWA representatives appreciated the efforts of the Marathi Association Perth in organising the celebration and acknowledged the importance of such events in strengthening cultural connections within the multicultural fabric of Western Australia.
