Mumbai, June 8 (IANS) Actor and dancer Jaaved Jaaferi has reacted to the ongoing controversy involving Ranveer Singh, Farhan Akhtar and ‘Don 3’.
He said he prefers to stay away from matters that do not directly concern him and is confident that the issue will be resolved eventually.
Speaking exclusively to IANS when asked about the issue, Jaaved said, “I don’t even know what kind of controversy it is. I should focus on my work. What should I do in this controversy? Neither am I Ranveer Singh’s secretary, nor am I any producer or director. So what will I do? All I know is that he is a good friend and does good work. Whatever has happened will be sorted out.”
The controversy surrounding Ranveer Singh’s reported exit from ‘Don 3’ has been making headlines for the past few weeks, prompting intervention from industry bodies and sparking a widespread debate within the film fraternity.
For the uninitiated, the controversy began after reports emerged that Ranveer Singh had stepped away from Farhan Akhtar’s much-awaited action franchise ‘Don 3’.
Following his reported exit, Excel Entertainment, Farhan Akhtar’s production house, allegedly claimed that substantial pre-production work had already been carried out for the film.
The matter escalated when the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) issued a non-cooperation directive against Ranveer Singh a few days ago, after a complaint related to his reported withdrawal from the project.
But in a significant development just recently, FWICE withdrew the non-cooperation directive following mediation efforts by the Producers Guild of India, CINTAA and other industry bodies.
Reports also stated that Ranveer had responded through legal channels, after which discussions were initiated to resolve the dispute amicably.
