Guna, Sep 17 (IANS) Union Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia on Thursday inaugurated a blood donation camp at the district hospital in Madhya Pradesh’s Guna as part of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP’s) month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday.
Scindia interacted with blood donors at the camp organised in his Lok Sabha constituency of Guna and honoured them with roses, thanking them for participating in the service initiative.
“This blood donation camp was organised today. I express my gratitude and thanks to everyone who participated in it. Prime Minister Narendra Modi has inspired people across the country to organise public service programmes on the occasion of his birthday,” the Union Minister said while talking to news reporters.
He also extended birthday greetings to PM Modi and highlighted his contribution to nation-building and India’s development journey in a message posted on social media.
“A blessed and joyous birthday to you. Heartfelt birthday wishes to the nation’s illustrious Prime Minister (Narendra Modi),” Scindia said, describing PM Modi’s public life as being centred on service, resolve and dedication.
He noted that PM Modi had given a new direction to nation-building by aligning it with the aspirations of the people and had accelerated India’s development journey during the past 25 years.
Scindia also prayed for PM Modi’s good health, long life and continued energy to serve the country.
According to the BJP, the month-long campaign is being organised to commemorate PM Modi’s 25 years in public life and will focus on various public service activities across Madhya Pradesh.
The party has planned programmes at 11,404 Shakti Kendras across the state.
These include blood donation camps, ‘Seva Ki Kahani’, ‘Seva Setu’ camps and cleanliness drives.
The BJP has said the campaign is aimed at taking service-oriented activities to the grassroots and involving people in various welfare and social initiatives.
