“Australia India House Project”, which has been a dream project for the Indian diaspora for over a decade, got a boost recently. Mr Jason Wood MP, Assistant Minister for Customs, Community Safety and Multicultural Affairs, announced $3.5 million funding for ‘Australia India House’ in Brisbane, if Liberal Morrison government re-elected.

Senator Paul Scarr has made a significant contribution to the project by taking the project to the federal level. Thanks to the hard work of AIHCF President Prasad Kdv Yarlagadda, Secretary Mr Robin Jaggessar, Treasurer Dr Ramana Panda, and the team, the project is close to seeing the light of day.

Special appreciation must also go to India oranisations like FICQ, AIBC, and GOPIO, and their past and current leaders who are behind the project.

“I commend Dr Maha Sinnathamby, Chairman of Springfield Land Corporation, and Jim Varghese AM Chair AIBC for their support of the vision for Australia India House, a community center where cultural events, social occasions, language schools, health expos, sporting events, business, professional seminars, workshops, and meetings happen,” said Dr Ram Mohan, erstwhile FICQ President and the publisher of Australia India News.

The Australia India House Charitable Foundation Limited (AIHCF) is seeking a tax-deductible donation of $10,000 or more from those seeking to become life members.
