Melbourne Indian community marks India’s 80th Independence Day

MELBOURNE, AUGUST 15/INDIAN ABROAD NEWSDESK

More than 500 members of the Indian community gathered at the Consulate General of India in Melbourne to mark India’s 80th Independence Day with a celebration of the country’s national spirit and cultural heritage.

Consul General of India Anish Rajan unfurled the Tricolour at the Consulate to mark the occasion.

The celebrations featured the singing of India’s National Song and National Anthem, followed by cultural performances showcasing the country’s diverse traditions.

The event brought together members of the Indian community to celebrate India’s Independence Day and highlight the values of unity and diversity.

The programme also provided an opportunity for the Indian diaspora in Victoria to come together and commemorate the 80th anniversary of India’s independence.
