Panna, Sep 18 (IANS) Fortune has once again favoured hardworking farmers in Madhya Pradesh’s diamond-rich Panna district. Badri Patel and five of his associates have discovered a 4.70-carat gem-quality diamond in a mine in the Pati area. The stone is estimated to be worth around Rs 15 lakh.
The team had begun excavation work in the mine only 15 to 20 days earlier. After persistent digging, they spotted a glittering stone, later confirmed to be a gem-quality diamond. The discovery has brought immense joy to the families of all the partners involved.
Following the find, Badri Patel and his associates deposited the diamond at the Diamond Office in accordance with prescribed regulations. Officials confirmed that the diamond had undergone the required verification process and will be included in the upcoming auction. The auction will determine its actual value, after which the proceeds will be distributed among the diamond holders as per the established procedure.
Expressing his happiness, Badri Patel said he had faith that with God’s grace his hard work would eventually pay off. He plans to use his share of the proceeds to build a new house.
His associates, Ratan Singh Yadav, Bhikham Prasad Patel, and Ramchandra Dubey, said they were looking forward to using the money for their children’s weddings and other family needs.
Panna has long been renowned for its diamonds, and the discovery of a sparkling gem often changes the fortunes of those who toil in its mines. This latest find has created a celebratory atmosphere among the farmers’ families, turning what was once only hard work and hope into a tangible new beginning.
All eyes are now on the forthcoming auction, where the 4.70-carat gem will be put up for sale. The partners are eagerly awaiting the outcome that will bring the fruits of their brief but successful mining effort.
