A free public celebration combining cricket, culture, and global cuisine is set to take place on March 2 at Fremantle Oval, offering families a full day of sport and entertainment during the Labour Day holiday.
The community-focused event will feature a multicultural cricket tournament alongside food stalls showcasing Italian, Indian, British, and Croatian flavours. Organisers say the initiative aims to create a vibrant gathering that reflects Western Australia’s diverse communities while promoting sport as a unifying force.
The match schedule will begin at 12 pm with a clash between British and Indian teams, followed by an Italy versus Croatia fixture. The day will continue with a third-place playoff and a twilight final under lights, with presentations planned to close the evening programme.
Open to the public at no cost, the festival invites families and cricket enthusiasts to enjoy a relaxed atmosphere filled with sport, cuisine, and cultural exchange, as Fremantle prepares to host a lively day celebrating multiculturalism.
