Naari celebrations in Perth honour women’s achievements and community spirit

The Consul General of India in Perth joined the Naari Celebrations organised by the Indian Society of Western Australia (ISWA), an event dedicated to recognising the strength, achievements and contributions of women.

The programme brought together members of the community to celebrate the spirit of Naari Shakti, with vibrant cultural performances, inspiring segments and tributes to women making a difference across various fields. The event also featured women entrepreneurs showcasing their businesses, highlighting their growing role within the community.

Several prominent dignitaries attended the celebrations, including minister Amber-Jade Sanderson MLA, Opposition Leader Basil Zempilas MLA, Dr Parwinder Kaur MLC, Ayor Makur Chuot MLC, Yaz Mubarakai MLA and Dr Jags MLA, reflecting strong support from across the political spectrum.

Organisers said the event aimed to honour the contributions of women while fostering unity and cultural pride within the Indian diaspora in Western Australia.

The celebrations were widely appreciated for their inclusive and empowering atmosphere, underscoring the importance of recognising and supporting women’s achievements in both community and professional spheres.
