Nishant Kumar celebrates his 45th birthday with prayers at Patna’s Mahavir temple

Patna, July 20 (IANS) Bihar Health Minister Nishant Kumar celebrated his 45th birthday on Monday by offering prayers at the Mahavir temple in Patna along with his father, former Chief Minister Nitish Kumar.

Continuing a long-standing family tradition, the father-son duo performed special rituals, including Rudrabhishek, seeking blessings for the well-being of the state and its people.

Nitish Kumar remained seated throughout the religious ceremony, while special security arrangements were put in place around the temple premises in view of the visit.

Devotees and JD(U) workers present at the temple greeted Nishant Kumar and extended their birthday wishes during the occasion.

After the prayers, Nishant Kumar briefly interacted with the media, stating that he had come to seek the blessings of the Almighty. He expressed hope that divine grace would continue to guide him, his father, the people of Bihar, and the entire nation.

The occasion also carries political significance, as Monday marks the beginning of the five-day monsoon session of the Bihar Legislature.

This will be Nishant Kumar’s first major Assembly session since assuming charge as the state’s Health Minister, where he is expected to respond to questions from the opposition on issues concerning the Health Department.

His performance in the House will be closely watched by both the ruling alliance and the opposition.

Leaders from across the political spectrum extended birthday greetings to the Health Minister.

Bihar Chief Minister Samrat Chaudhary conveyed his best wishes, while JD(U) National Working President Sanjay Kumar Jha congratulated Nishant Kumar through a post on X, describing him as a young, hardworking, and service-oriented leader and wishing him a healthy and successful future.

Union Minister Rajiv Ranjan Singh alias Lalan Singh also extended his greetings on X, referring to Nishant Kumar as a popular young JD(U) leader and wishing him success and good health.

Throughout the day, JD(U) workers, supporters, and well-wishers continued to flood social media with birthday messages, celebrating the occasion and expressing confidence in his leadership as Bihar’s Health Minister.
