Jaipur, July 29 (IANS) Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajanlal Sharma welcomed the passage of the Public Examinations (Prevention of Unfair Means) Amendment Bill, 2026 in the Lok Sabha, describing it as a historic and far-reaching initiative that reinforces the aspirations of crores of young Indians, recognises their years of hard work, and strengthens their faith in a fair and transparent competitive examination system.
The Chief Minister said the Central government had once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to protecting the interests of the nation’s youth. He emphasised that there was no place in New India for those who tamper with the future of young aspirants through unfair means.
Describing the amendment as a significant step towards safeguarding the interests of talented and hardworking candidates, Sharma said the legislation would provide a strong legal framework to effectively curb paper leaks, cheating, organised examination mafias, and other malpractices, thereby preserving the sanctity, credibility, and integrity of competitive examinations.
He further stated that the bill would reinforce the confidence of every student and candidate that success in competitive examinations depends solely on merit, ability, discipline, and hard work, not on irregularities or corrupt practices.
He added that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the Central government had consistently strengthened the principles of good governance, transparency, and accountability, and that this amendment reflected the same visionary approach.
The Chief Minister observed that the talent, energy, and innovation of the country’s youth were the greatest assets in the journey towards building a Viksit Bharat (Developed India). Therefore, he said, any injustice to their hard work was unacceptable. The legislation, he noted, would further enhance public confidence in the country’s education and recruitment systems.
Sharma also reiterated the Rajasthan Government’s commitment to conducting competitive examinations in a fair, transparent, and technology-driven manner.
He said the state government had been implementing a series of effective measures to ensure the integrity of the examination process.
Congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Central Government on this historic and visionary initiative, the Chief Minister expressed confidence that the amendment would play a pivotal role in securing the bright future of crores of young Indians and advancing the nation’s collective vision of a Viksit Bharat.
