Community organisations Batayan and Rangmanch Production organised a special cultural event in Perth highlighting the life and contributions of legendary filmmaker and author Satyajit Ray.
The programme featured noted filmmaker Sandip Ray sharing stories and insights about his father’s remarkable contribution to Indian cinema, literature and the arts, offering audiences a deeper understanding of Satyajit Ray’s enduring legacy.
The event received appreciation from the Indian Society of WA (ISWA), which congratulated the organisers for creating an opportunity for the community to engage with India’s rich artistic and cultural heritage.
Organisers said the gathering brought together members of the Indian diaspora and lovers of cinema and culture in an evening dedicated to celebrating one of India’s most influential creative icons.
ISWA noted that such cultural initiatives help strengthen appreciation for Indian art and heritage while fostering greater community connection in Western Australia.
