The Consulate General of India in Perth celebrated the 79th Independence Day of India with a spirited gathering of the Indian community and friends of India.
The event began with Consul General Kajari Biswas hoisting the Indian tricolour, followed by the President of India’s address to the nation and the singing of the national anthem.
Cultural performances showcased India’s rich traditions, while Indian-origin parliamentarians Yaz Mubarakai MLA, Dr Jags MLA, and Kevin Michel MLA attended, reflecting the diaspora’s strong community presence in Western Australia.
The Consulate General thanked attendees, noting the celebration’s role in uniting the community and honouring India’s heritage abroad.
