The Indian community in the Pilbara region celebrated the vibrant festival of Onam with a colorful event organized by the Hindu Association of Pilbara (HAP) in Karratha recently. Supported by the Hindu Council of Australia Western Australia (HCAWA) and the Indian Consulate, the celebration drew a large crowd, including local dignitaries such as Kevin Michel MLA.
The event featured traditional Onam festivities, showcasing the cultural richness of Kerala and fostering a sense of unity among the Indian diaspora in the remote region. The support from the Indian Consulate and other organizations highlighted the significance of preserving cultural traditions, even in distant areas, while promoting connections and strengthening community bonds.
