PM Modi to lay foundation for Jaipur Metro Phase-2 project worth Rs 13,000 crore on July 4

Jaipur, July 2 (IANS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi will virtually lay the foundation stone for the 41-km Jaipur Metro Phase-2 project during a programme at Pachpadra in the Balotra district of Rajasthan on July 4.

The foundation-laying ceremony will be broadcast live at the Indoor Hall of Sawai Mansingh (SMS) Stadium in Jaipur. The Jaipur Metro Phase-2 project, estimated to cost Rs 13,037.66 crore, is one of the state’s major urban infrastructure initiatives.

A district-level Rozgar Utsav (Employment Festival) will also be organised at the SMS Stadium Indoor Hall on the occasion, where appointment letters will be distributed to newly recruited personnel from various government departments. Around 4,000 newly recruited employees are expected to receive their appointment letters after completing registration at the event, which will commence at 11:00 a.m.

Preparations for the virtual foundation-laying ceremony and the district-level Rozgar Utsav were reviewed on Thursday at a meeting chaired by Jaipur District Collector Sandesh Nayak, attended by officials from various departments.

The District Collector directed the police administration to make comprehensive arrangements for security and law and order during the programme. Officials were instructed to ensure smooth traffic management, adequate parking, proper entry and exit arrangements, VIP movement protocols, crowd management, deployment of sufficient security personnel—including women police officers—and the availability of all necessary security equipment.

The Collector also instructed officials to ensure all essential public facilities at the venue, including seating arrangements, drinking water, sanitation, mobile toilets, medical assistance, ambulances, fire safety measures, uninterrupted power supply with backup generators, and internet and communication facilities.

He further directed that adequate arrangements be made for persons with disabilities.

Emphasising inter-departmental coordination, he asked all concerned departments to fulfil their assigned responsibilities to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the event. The Collector also announced that 5 lakh saplings will be planted across Jaipur district under the Hariyalo Rajasthan campaign.

The meeting was attended by Additional District Collector (I) and Programme Nodal Officer Rajiv Dwivedi, Additional District Collector (IV) Ashish Kumar, Additional District Collector (Jaipur City North) Rajendra Singh, Additional District Collector (Jaipur City South) Yugantar Sharma, Jaipur Metro Director (Company Affairs) and Assistant Nodal Officer Mahesh Buradia, Chief District Education Officer and Assistant Nodal Officer Mukul Kaviya, along with other senior officials from the concerned departments.
