Agartala, Aug 26 (IANS) Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha said on Wednesday that a month-long ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ would be organised across the state from September 17 to October 17 to mark Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, with various social and public-oriented programmes planned during the period.
The Chief Minister said that the programmes would begin on September 17, the Prime Minister’s birthday, and continue for a month.
Various initiatives would be undertaken as part of the campaign, while people would also be made aware of the welfare and development-oriented schemes and projects of the Prime Minister Modi, Chief Minister Saha said this while participating in an important meeting of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) state committee in Agartala on Wednesday.
Preparations for observing the Prime Minister’s birthday and making the successful month-long campaign were discussed in the meeting.
“Every year on this occasion, we celebrate it as the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan. Wednesday’s meeting discussed how the government and the party will make this programme successful. This programme will be conducted from September 17 to October 17,” CM Saha added.
The Chief Minister said that the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ would be organised with the active participation of people, including youths and various programmes, would be held in different parts of the state.
“Everyone knows that the way the Prime Minister’s birthday is celebrated is different from the traditional way. There are instructions from the party and the government. This year, about 25 programmes have been organised in different areas. For example, there will be programmes such as tree plantation, cleanliness drives, drawing competitions for young children, etc,” he added.
Chief Minister Saha said that along with this, the people-oriented projects of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will also be highlighted.
He added that the month-long campaign would include a range of programmes aimed at strengthening people’s participation and ensuring that the benefits of various government schemes reach the intended beneficiaries.
The Chief Minister also said that similar initiatives had been undertaken earlier, including the first and second phases of the good governance programmes aimed at reaching every household.
“Before this, we have also conducted the first and second phases of good governance in every household. Our goal is to reach the people with the benefits of people-oriented projects. And in these efforts, people must be kept by our side. We will celebrate the Prime Minister’s birthday by implementing various programmes together,” he added.
Chief Minister Saha said that the participation of the people would be important for the successful implementation of the various programmes planned under the ‘Seva Sankalp Abhiyan’ and reiterated that the state government and the party would work together to take the Prime Minister’s people-oriented initiatives to the people.
State BJP President and MLA Abhishek Debroy, along with other senior leaders of the party and Ministers, were present at the meeting.
