New Delhi, Sep 8 (IANS) Leader of the Opposition Rahul Gandhi on Tuesday spoke to the brother of C Vikram Singh, a guitarist from Manipur who was brutally beaten to death outside his home in Delhi on Monday, and conveyed his deepest condolences to the bereaved family.
According to information shared by his office, Gandhi expressed solidarity with the family in their moment of grief. He assured them that their demand for justice would not go unheard.
Senior Congress leader Pawan Khera wrote on his X handle, “This afternoon, Leader of the Opposition, Shri Rahul Gandhi, spoke to the brother of C Vikram Singh, a guitarist from Manipur who was brutally beaten to death outside his home in Delhi yesterday, to convey his deepest condolences to the bereaved family. Shri Rahul Gandhi expressed his solidarity with the family and assured them that their demand for justice will not go unheard.”
C Vikram Singh, who hailed from Manipur and was known as a guitarist, was attacked and killed outside his residence in the national capital. He was allegedly assaulted late on Sunday night after he objected to a group of men making noise and drinking outside his residence. He sustained serious injuries and was rushed to a hospital by his son, where he succumbed to his injuries on Monday morning.
Delhi Police have arrested seven men and apprehended a juvenile in connection with the case.
The incident has left his family devastated.
Gandhi’s conversation with the victim’s brother came a day after the killing. During the interaction, the Leader of the Opposition is understood to have listened to the family’s concerns and reiterated his support for their pursuit of justice.
