Raj Chief Secy directs timely completion of preparations for BRICS Industry and Trade Ministers’ meetings in Jaipur

Jaipur, July 15 (IANS) Rajasthan Chief Secretary V. Srinivas on Wednesday reviewed preparations for the BRICS Industry and Trade Ministers’ Meetings, scheduled to be held in Jaipur on August 6 and 7, and directed all concerned departments to complete arrangements within the stipulated timeline.

He stressed the need for close inter-departmental coordination to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the prestigious international event.

Chairing a high-level review meeting at the Secretariat, the Chief Secretary assessed the preparedness of various departments and reviewed arrangements related to security, protocol, logistics, and civic infrastructure.

Highlighting the significance of the event, Chief Secretary Srinivas noted that the BRICS grouping comprises Brazil, Russia, India, China, South Africa, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iran, the United Arab Emirates, and Indonesia.

He said the ministerial meeting would bring Ministers and senior-level delegations from member countries to Jaipur, making it a landmark international event for Rajasthan.

The Chief Secretary directed the Home Department and police authorities to ensure foolproof security at the airport, hotels, meeting venues, and other designated locations.

He also instructed officials to implement comprehensive motorcade and traffic management plans to facilitate the safe and seamless movement of foreign delegations between the airport, hotels, and event venues.

He asked the Jaipur Municipal Corporation and the Jaipur Development Authority (JDA) to complete special cleanliness drives, beautification works, decorative lighting, landscaping, and other civic improvements along the designated routes and key locations associated with the event.

He emphasised that reception and welcome arrangements at the airport should be executed flawlessly, reflecting Rajasthan’s hospitality.

During the meeting, Chief Secretary Srinivas also reviewed preparations related to protocol, airport facilities, medical services, cultural programmes, delegation itineraries, branding, traffic management, and other logistical requirements.

He directed all departments to complete their assigned responsibilities in a coordinated and time-bound manner.

The meeting was attended by Additional Chief Secretary (Industries and Commerce) Shikhar Agrawal, Jaipur Police Commissioner Sachin Mittal, Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence) Prafull Kumar, JDA Commissioner Siddharth Mahajan, Industries and Commerce Commissioner Nilabh Saxena, Jaipur District Collector Sandesh Nayak, and senior officials from the Home, Tourism, Medical and Health, General Administration, Information and Public Relations, Municipal Corporation, and other concerned departments.
