The Syro Malabar Eparchy of St Thomas the Apostle, Melbourne, marked a historic day with the inauguration and blessing of Santhom Groves, a newly established Pastoral and Community Resource Centre in the Yarra Ranges. The centre continues the rich legacy of Pallotti College, offering a spiritual and communal space for the Indian Christian diaspora.
The ceremony was led by Mar Raphael Thattil, Major Archbishop of the Syro Malabar Church, and attended by an array of dignitaries including MPs Pauline Richards, Iwan Walters, Cindy McLeish, and Consul General Dr Sushil Kumar. Church officials, clergy, and vibrant community members also joined in the celebrations.
Santhom Groves represents the Syro Malabar community’s growing footprint in Victoria and its enduring commitment to faith, education, and cultural inclusivity, reinforcing its role in Australia’s multicultural story.
