In a historic milestone, seven women officers from the Indian Army, Navy, and Air Force are undertaking a round-the-world maritime expedition (Samudra Pradakshina), highlighting woman power, courage, resilience, and tri-service unity.
The journey commenced on September 11, 2025, with a sail from the Gateway of India in Mumbai, marking a moment of pride for the Indian armed forces and the nation. The expedition, led aboard IASV Triveni, aims to showcase India’s maritime strength and the growing role of Nari Shakti in uniform.
The team is expected to arrive soon in Fremantle, Western Australia, where the expedition will continue to inspire communities, strengthen India-Australia ties, and celebrate the achievements of women serving in India’s defence forces. This landmark voyage underscores the message that courage, dedication, and leadership know no gender boundaries.
