Sport, culture tapped to boost India-Australia trade tiesh

 

Perth, July 9 (Indian Abroad Newsdesk)

In a unique effort to connect commerce with culture, members of the Australia India Business Association (AIBA), led by president Kamlesh Patel, along with Trid Woodhouse from Asian Engagement, Hockey WA, met with the Consul General in Perth to explore new dimensions of the Australia–India trade relationship.

The meeting focused on leveraging sport—particularly hockey—and multicultural engagement as pathways to deepen economic and community ties between the two nations. Discussions highlighted the potential of sports diplomacy and cultural initiatives in opening doors for bilateral trade, business collaboration, and people-to-people exchange.

The Consul General welcomed the innovative approach and expressed support for initiatives that blend community connection with economic opportunity, reinforcing the evolving partnership between India and Australia.
