Perth, February 17 (Indian Abroad Newsdesk)

An evening of rhythm, harmony and cultural exchange unfolded at the Perth Fringe World Festival 2026 as SWARASYNTHESIS brought together Indian classical music and global sounds in a vibrant community performance.

The event was organised by the Swami Vivekananda Cultural Centre and the Consulate General of India in Perth, in partnership with ArtRage, and highlighted the growing presence of multicultural artistic collaborations in Western Australia’s creative landscape.

Featuring six local artists from the community, the performance showcased the depth and versatility of Indian musical traditions while blending them with contemporary global influences. Audiences experienced a dynamic fusion of classical elements and modern interpretations, reflecting both heritage and innovation on stage.

India’s Consul General in Perth attended the programme as the Guest of Honour, underscoring the importance of cultural diplomacy and artistic engagement in strengthening ties between communities. Organisers noted that the initiative aimed to promote cultural understanding while providing a platform for emerging and established performers to share their talent with a wider audience.

Attendees described the evening as a celebration of diversity and artistic collaboration, with the music serving as a bridge between cultures. By presenting Indian classical traditions within the context of an international arts festival, SWARASYNTHESIS contributed to the broader vision of fostering inclusivity and cross-cultural dialogue through the performing arts.

The programme concluded on a high note, leaving audiences with a renewed appreciation for the richness of Indian music and its ability to connect people across backgrounds, reinforcing the spirit of unity that defines the Perth Fringe World Festival.
