The Tamil Association of Queensland has announced its newly elected committee for 2026, marking a new phase of leadership for the community organisation.
Karthick Elangovan has been elected as president, with Dr Satha Iyathurai serving as vice president. Uma Agnal Anton Madhan will take on the role of Secretary, while Senapathy Gunalan has been appointed Treasurer.
The committee also includes Preethi Raju, Kandiah Varadhan and Madhanmohan Karunamoorthy as members, representing a diverse team set to guide the association’s activities in the coming year.
The association expressed appreciation to Palani O Thevar OAM for serving as the presiding officer during the annual general meeting, acknowledging his contribution to the smooth conduct of the election process.
Community members welcomed the new leadership team, expressing confidence in their ability to strengthen cultural engagement and continue promoting Tamil heritage across Queensland.
