Srinagar, Aug 25 (IANS) Security forces said on Tuesday they have arrested three persons with grenades and posters of the banned terror outfit, Hizbul Mujahideen in Jammu and Kashmir’s (J&K’s) Shopian district.
Officials said on Tuesday that the security forces arrested three persons during a naka-checking operation in South Kashmir’s Shopian district and recovered two hand grenades and five posters bearing Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) markings from them.
The three persons were held along with a motorcycle during the naka-checking operation. They have been identified as Junaid Ahmad Dar, Amir Yousuf and Junaid Muzaffar, who are all residents of Kulgam district.
The recovered material has been confiscated by the security forces, while further investigation is underway, officials added.
Earlier today, security forces arrested two terror associates in J&K’s Pulwama district from whose possession arms and ammunition were recovered.
Officials said security forces have apprehended two terrorist associates and recovered a pistol, 12 rounds of ammunition and a hand grenade during a joint operation in the Yarwan forest area of CB Nath, Rajpora, Pulwama.
Officials said in a joint operation with the 44 Rashtriya Rifles of the Indian Army, the 183 Battalion CRPF, apprehended two terrorist associates and recovered one pistol, 12 pistol rounds and one hand grenade from their possession in the Yarwan forest area of CB Nath, Rajpora.
“Acting on coordinated security inputs, a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) was launched in the general Yarwan forest area. During the operation, the joint teams noticed two individuals emerging from the forest towards CB Nath village in a suspicious manner.
“The alert teams swiftly moved in and apprehended both individuals,” the officer said.
The apprehended individuals have been identified as Latif Ahmad Deedad son of Gh. Mohammad Deedad resident of Lassi Daban and Aejaz Ahmad Bajad son of Nazir Ahmad Bajad resident of Bun Kha Bamnoo.
During their search, one pistol, 12 pistol rounds and one hand grenade were recovered from their possession.
