Australia and India have reaffirmed their commitment to deepening defence cooperation following meetings between senior air force officials in Canberra and Brisbane.
Royal Australian Air Force Deputy Chief Air Vice-Marshal Steven Pesce hosted Indian Air Force Air Vice-Marshal Sanjeev Taliyan during the visit, which focused on strengthening Australia-India defence engagement through professional air power dialogue.
The discussions highlighted cooperation and expertise across areas including air logistics support, airborne and special operations, VIP transport, air-to-air refuelling, search and survivor assistance, and aeromedical evacuation.
Officials from HALSPO, 86 Wing, 33 Squadron and 36 Squadron also contributed to the engagements.
According to the Royal Australian Air Force, the interaction reflected ongoing efforts to strengthen interoperability, build trust and enhance defence ties between the Australian and Indian armed forces.
The engagement also highlighted the growing importance of Australia-India defence cooperation in supporting regional security and maintaining a resilient Indo-Pacific partnership.
