High Commissioner of India Nagesh Singh met Professor Rebekah Brown FASSA, Interim Vice-Chancellor and president of the Australian National University (ANU), and Professor Kiaran Kirk AM of the ANU College of Science and Medicine to discuss opportunities for strengthening India–Australia cooperation in higher education and research.
According to the High Commission of India in Canberra, Professor Brown is a distinguished academic and research leader in sustainability and environmental studies. The discussions covered ways to deepen collaboration between India and Australia in higher education, with particular attention to research across STEM and the humanities.
The meeting also explored opportunities to strengthen institutional partnerships and expand faculty and student linkages between Australian and Indian higher education institutions.
The engagement underscored the scope for greater academic and research cooperation between the two countries, particularly through stronger institutional connections and exchanges.
