Event marks 85 years since historic World War II siege

Consul General of India in Melbourne Anish Rajan joined Her Excellency the Honourable Sam Mostyn, Governor-General of the Commonwealth of Australia, and other dignitaries to commemorate the 85th anniversary of the Siege of Tobruk during World War II.
The event was attended by members of the Consular Corps in Melbourne as well as representatives of the Rats of Tobruk Association, honouring the legacy and sacrifices of those involved in the historic military campaign.
The commemoration served as a tribute to the courage and resilience displayed during the Siege of Tobruk, a significant episode of World War II. It also highlighted the continued importance of remembering shared history and strengthening ties through such ceremonial observances.
The presence of diplomatic representatives, including Consul General Rajan, underscored the significance of international participation in honouring global historical milestones.
