FICQ Unity Cup to bring multicultural communities together

BRISBANE, AUGUST 14/INDIAN ABROAD NEWSDESK

The Federation of Indian Communities of Queensland (FICQ) will host the FICQ Unity Cup 2026, a multicultural soccer tournament aimed at bringing communities together through sport, friendship and teamwork.

The event will be held on September 13, 2026, from 7am to 4pm at J.F. O’Grady Memorial Park, Fairfield, in Brisbane.

The tournament is expected to bring together players, families, supporters and community members from diverse backgrounds for a day of football and multicultural celebration.

According to FICQ, the Unity Cup will feature four categories — Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Under-14 and Under-9 — providing opportunities for players of different ages and skill levels to participate.

The organisation said the event is intended to promote multicultural unity and community connections through the shared spirit of football.

FICQ has invited players, families and community members to attend the tournament and take part in the celebration.
