GOLD COAST, MAY 14/INDIAN ABROAD NEWSDESK
Abhilasha Sarmah, a Year 10 student at Somerset College on the Gold Coast, has been crowned Miss Teen Galaxy Australia 2026 at the Australia Galaxy Pageants.
The title qualifies her to represent Australia at the international finals scheduled to be held in the Bahamas.
Alongside her academic studies, Abhilasha is involved in debating, public speaking and the arts. She is also a member of the Gold Coast Junior Council, where she participates in youth leadership and community engagement activities.
Speaking about her experience, Abhilasha said pageantry had helped her build confidence and develop leadership skills.
“Australia Galaxy Pageants has been instrumental in shaping my growth. It has given me the confidence to lead, the courage to speak, and the purpose to make a difference,” she said.
Abhilasha is also working on a poetry collection titled Love Letters to My Melancholy, featuring her original poems, which is expected to be published in the future.
The 2026 Australia Galaxy Pageants titleholders also include Alexis as Junior Miss Galaxy Australia, Cleo as Miss Galaxy Australia, Haley as Ms. Galaxy Australia and Charlotte as Mrs. Galaxy Australia.
Organisers said Abhilasha would represent Australia at the international competition while promoting values of resilience, empowerment and community spirit.
