At Dilli 6 Food Festival at Edesia

February 18, 2023 (IANSlife) The 13th iteration of the Crowne Plaza New Delhi Okhla’s renowned food event, Dilli 6, will be held at Edesia, a multi-cuisine restaurant. The festival’s motif, “Bazaar-E-Purani,” pays homage to Chandni Chowk’s iconic markets that have endured through ages, generations, and dynasties and can be traced back to its inaugural season in 2011. In keeping with custom, the kitchen team has enlisted street food “khansamas” from Dilli 6’s back alleys to create Chandni Chowk Ki Galiya, a singular dining experience!
Experience a street style encounter while embarking on a culinary journey with the signature “Paranthe Wali Gali” and LIVE Biryani, Kebab, Kulfis, Jalebis, & Chaat counters that are bustling with activity. The menu offers more than 100 choices for cyclic dishes, including Dahi Bhalla, Golguppe, Aloo Chaat, Fruit Kulia Chaat, Matra Kulcha, Chole Bhature, and others. With Roomali rotis, Rogani naans, Doodh wali rotis, and candied fruit Sheermal as accompaniments, the main course of Mutton Nihari, Chicken Changezi, Murgh Begum Bahar, Kofta Sham Savera, and Dal Dilruba will dazzle your palate. Desserts like Daulat Ki Chaat, Palang tod Barfi, Habshi Halwa, Rabdi Faluda, Sunhari Paita Halwa, Phirni, Shahi Tukda, and others are soul-satisfying ways to end your dinner.
According to Chef Ashutosh Bisht, Executive Sous Chef, “I recall visiting the narrow gullies of Old Delhi as a kid to relish thick and juicy jalebis glistening with ghee and crisp fried aloo chaat in a mélange of chutneys. Our chefs have collaborated with local khansamas to capture the secrets behind the aromatic delicacies which are deeply rooted in Chandni Chowk’s culture. Our food menu celebrates the street food hawkers of the old city in an extremely hygienic set up.”
