The Telugu Association of Australia Inc. (TAAI) participated in the Victorian Multicultural Community Roundtable, contributing to discussions on the future of multicultural policy and community engagement in Victoria.
The roundtable, hosted by Parliamentary Secretary Iwan Walters MP, brought together community representatives to discuss the next phase of Multicultural Victoria and the development of the Whole of Government Multicultural Strategy. Participants were welcomed by Louise Perry, Interim Chair of Multicultural Victoria.
Representing TAAI, the association shared the experiences and perspectives of the Telugu community, highlighting key challenges while offering practical suggestions to strengthen collaboration between government agencies and multicultural organisations.
The discussions focused on enhancing government services, fostering stronger engagement with multicultural and multifaith communities, and promoting a more inclusive and connected Victoria through community partnerships.
TAAI welcomed the Victorian Government’s commitment to consulting community organisations in shaping future multicultural policies and expressed its willingness to continue working with government and other stakeholders to support and empower Victoria’s diverse communities.
