The Telugu Association of Australia Inc. (TAAI) successfully concluded its Table Tennis Tournament 2025–26, bringing together community members for a day of competitive sport, enthusiasm, and camaraderie.
The event witnessed high-energy matches and strong participation across categories, reflecting the growing interest in sports within the community. Organisers acknowledged the contributions of participants, volunteers, and umpires for ensuring the smooth conduct of the tournament.
A notable highlight of this year’s event was the increased participation of women, with seven players competing in the women’s category, marking a positive step towards greater inclusivity in community sports initiatives.
Special recognition was given to Sahitya Pidaparthi for her role in leading and organising the event, while logistical support from community partners also contributed to its successful execution.
In the juniors category, Charith Yandrapally emerged as the winner, with Daeshim Siddharth finishing as runner-up. In the women’s category, Sahitya Pidaparthi secured first place, followed by Shashikala Avula as runner-up. In the men’s category, Maruthi Siva Prasad VM claimed the top position, while Charith Yandrapally finished as runner-up. Roohika Pothana was recognised as the special winner in the girls category.
The tournament highlighted the importance of community-driven sporting events in promoting participation, healthy competition, and social connection among members.
