MELBOURNE, APRIL 24/ INDIAN ABROAD NEWSDESK
The Telugu Association of Australia Inc. has marked a significant milestone in its Telugu Bhavanam initiative, aimed at establishing a dedicated cultural and community space for the Telugu diaspora in Melbourne.
The project is being developed through the ATCCC, a registered charity working to promote Telugu arts, music, and cultural heritage while creating a permanent hub for community engagement.
Organisers said the initiative reflects years of vision, dialogue, and collective effort, supported by contributions from community members. A major contribution from Nagarjun Surapaneni, along with support from more than 100 donors since 2019, has played a key role in advancing the project.
Community representatives noted that the Telugu Bhavanam is envisioned as more than a physical structure, serving as a space to preserve language, traditions, and cultural identity for future generations.
The proposed centre is expected to host cultural programmes, educational activities, and community events, strengthening bonds within the Telugu community and fostering a sense of belonging among members of the diaspora.
Organisers expressed gratitude to contributors and volunteers for their continued support, highlighting the collaborative effort driving the initiative forward.
The milestone is seen as an important step towards establishing a lasting cultural hub for the Telugu community in Melbourne.
