The Australia India Business Council (AIBC) has celebrated 40 years of fostering business and economic engagement between Australia and India.
Established in 1986 with the support of former Australian Prime Minister Bob Hawke and former Indian Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, the organisation was created to strengthen business links between the two countries.
Over the past four decades, AIBC has worked across sectors including technology, education, healthcare, resources, renewable energy and agribusiness, promoting trade, investment and bilateral partnerships.
The council acknowledged the role played by its former chairs, state presidents, committee members and supporters in shaping the organisation’s growth and contribution to Australia-India relations.
AIBC said it would continue focusing on connecting businesses, strengthening professional networks and supporting future opportunities between the two nations.
