A major cultural and business event, the Melbourne Tamil Market, is set to bring together Tamil businesses and community members for a two-day celebration in Victoria later this month.
Organised by the Australian Tamil Chamber of Commerce, Victoria, the event will be held at the Victoria Tamil Community Centre in Dandenong on April 24 and 25, with free entry for all visitors. The inaugural ceremony is scheduled for the evening of April 24.
The market will feature a wide range of products, including sarees, handloom textiles, women’s and ethnic wear, jewellery, cosmetics, wellness items, and accessories, offering visitors an opportunity to explore diverse offerings from Tamil and multicultural businesses.
Food will be a key attraction, with stalls serving a variety of cuisines such as South Indian dishes, Malaysian street food, biryani, dosa, pani puri, satay, nasi lemak, and a selection of beverages and traditional delicacies.
In addition to shopping and food, visitors can participate in activities such as henna, face painting, and art displays, adding a cultural dimension to the event.
The market will also serve as a platform for professional services, including finance, property, legal advice, education, and technology-related solutions, reflecting the growing presence of Tamil entrepreneurs across sectors.
Organisers said the initiative aims to create a vibrant space that celebrates entrepreneurship, cultural identity, and community engagement, while encouraging support for local businesses.
